ACAMA, Asociación de Consumidores afectados Mundo Mágico nace a raíz de este caso: Mundo Mágico Tours, S.L., cuya sede social se encuentra en Benalmadena (Malaga) y tenia oficinas abiertas en varias provincias de España, se dedicaba desde hacia años a la venta de participaciones-semanas (multipropiedad) en diferentes Complejos Turísticos (Benalmadena, Almeria...) y posteriormente comercializa paquetes vacacionales para el disfrute de 3 semanas de vacaciones anuales durante 50 años, para varias personas y con importantes descuentos en sus viajes, mediante afiliación al Programa Magic Tour o Terramar, formalizando contratos de venta, tras técnicas agresivas de venta que duraban horas. Desde el año 2002 han comenzado a cerrar sus oficinas de atención al publico, incumpliendo sistemáticamente en numerosos casos sus obligaciones contenidas en dichos contratos, impidiendo el disfrute de sus vacaciones a miles de afectados por todo el país, los cuales desembolsaron importantes cantidades en efectivo o mediante prestamos vinculados en entidades financieras (BBVA, Santander Central Hispano, Hispamer, Caja Madrid, etc), que eran gestionados por Mundo Magico, con cantidades cercanas a los 12.000 Euros. Mundo Mágico, según testimonio de los afectados, prometía a sus clientes que se podían arrepentir antes de trascurrir un año y que ellos asumirían el contrato devolviendo las cantidades, cuando únicamente se comprometían a una gestión de reventa, incluso con otras empresas a las que los afectados han abonado otra cantidad en concepto de gestión de venta y que prácticamente en el 100% de los casos no han llegado a buen puerto (no han vendido sus semanas), por lo que también se actuara contra las mismas.
Los clientes de Mundo Mágico decidieron unirse en una plataforma y crear la Asociación, para interponer centenares de denuncias penales por presunta estafa y apropiación indebida ante los Juzgados de Instrucción de Torremolinos (Malaga) y demandas civiles para la paralización de los prestamos vinculados y rescisión del contrato.
