Las empresas de multipropiedad advierten de que aún hay 15 agencias como Mundo Mágico en la Costa
«Con las empresas de tiempo compartido se adquiere un derecho, mientras que estos productos -refiriéndose a los paquetes de vacaciones de Mundo Mágico Tours- sólo ofrecen promesas». Por ello, los empresarios de la multipropiedad advierten de que aún hay unas 15 agencias que comercializan el mismo producto que Mundo Mágico en la Costa del Sol, y al menos 30 a nivel nacional. «Los modos de fraude que se están dando ahora mismo son la venta de semanas de vacaciones, que no son más que humo -sólo venden una reserva hotelera- y la reventa de estos paquetes», explicó Vogeler.
Pese a todo, el presidente de OTE insistió en que, al margen de la crisis generalizada del turismo tras el 11-S, las empresas de tiempo compartido están resistiendo estos avatares, ante los que pueden hacer bien poco. «Nos presentaremos como acusación particular -por competencia desleal- contra las empresas de multipropiedad que vendan estos productos», afirmó Vogeler, «pero el caso de Mundo Mágico es distinto, porque tiene licencia como agencia de viajes».
Según el presidente de OTE, las empresas como Mundo Mágico decidieron tomar «otro camino distinto al del tiempo compartido» tras la aprobación de la Ley de Aprovechamiento por turnos de Bienes Inmuebles de 1998, que regulaba el sector y endurecía las garantías legales para los consumidores. «Las empresas como Mundo Mágico no respetan el periodo de reflexión de 10 días y cogen dinero como depósito, algo que nosotros tenemos prohibido por ley y por nuestro propio código ético», dijo.
Hasta ahora, la asociación de empresarios de tiempo compartido ha recibido más de 120 quejas de clientes -un 80 por ciento de origen británico- relacionadas con una treintena de empresa, según el gerente de OTE, José Antonio Méndez: «Todas estas quejas, así como la documentación de los afectados, se remiten al Grupo de Fraudes de la Policía Nacional, que a su vez las pasa al juzgado».
Los representantes de OTE recalcaron que las agencias como Mundo Mágico no tienen nada que ver con la multipropiedad,un producto que, según ellos, tiene cada vez más aceptación.
Andalucía: Cuenta con 177 complejos de multipropiedad, con 9.198 unidades de alojamiento. El 90 por ciento están ubicadas en la Costa del Sol, que es, junto a Canarias, el principal destino de este negocio.
España: Es el país europeo con mayor número de complejos. En 2002 facturó 431 millones de euros. 67.400 familias españolas son propietarias de tiempo compartido, y 662.508 en toda Europa.
